Sometimes it’s trying to collect the trash around the human friends’ room or rack up a lot of points doing tricks. That is the adventure mode in a nutshell, each skate park has missions that progress the story. The adventure takes you across multiple ‘skate parks’, which just happen to be average day rooms or rooftops that happen to have ramps and grind rails made of everyday objects. You start as a bird trying to make your human friend happier but quickly learn of the problems plaguing him and start working to help him. However, what I played was a far cry from that, in fact I’d go to say it disappointed me in almost every way.Īside from its premise, what is SkateBIRD really about? Well, you play as a skateboarding bird living with your skateboarding bird friends in a house owned by your ‘big human friend’. SkateBird’s almost what you’d expect with a creative title like that, a skateboarding game except instead of people you play as a bird. It themes itself entirely around that gimmick and never let’s go. I thought I’d be going into a fun romp filled with unique challenges surrounding the concept of being a bird on a skateboard.
